This adapter allows stacking different filters on a lens with 52mm front thread. You can use 52mm screw-in filter deeper (like a permanent polarization filter), plus a large 77mm filter in front of the adapter.

Also, due to the length, you can use it as a lens shade (but be careful - wider lenses have higher risk of vignetting).

Outer diameter is 80mm that matches widely used matte box size. Front plastic slip-on 80mm cap is included.
